The Family Man went on to become a huge success and now the fans are desperately waiting for an update on the third season. The director Raj & DK’s new series Farzi is also a sensation, that deals with counterfeiting money. The series has stars like Shahid Kapoor and Vijay Sethupathi in important roles. Well, after watching Farzi the fans of The Family Man are connecting the dots to learn that Farzi is also from the same universe as The Family Man.
*Spoilers Ahead*
First things first, there are a lot of similarities between Srikant Tiwari (Manoj Bajpayee in The Family Man) and Michael (Vijay Sethupathi in Farzi). Both are loyal to their work but not the government, and both are middle-class police officers who have their own family issues. Apart from that, their investigative instincts and intuitions appear alike most of the time and even their decisions on some points appear similar, hinting they are from the same league or mindset.
Coming to the connecting points, the very famous ‘Chellam’ sir from The Family Man reappears in ‘Farzi’ as Michael requests a favor. Needless to say how ‘Chellam’ sir is crucial in The Family Man though his role is just a ‘blink and miss’. Also, in one of the scenes, Michael walks by a street asking two men if ‘Tiwari’ is there in the office and sending his ‘Hi’ to Tiwari, hinting at his association with none other than ‘Shrikant Tiwari’.
Also in another episode, Michael gets into a phone call with a person for a favor. And needless to say that it was Shrikant Tiwari on the other side and the top fans of The Family Man could easily recognize his voice.
On whole, Michael calling Shrikant Tiwari, seeking Chellam sir’s help and other hints indicate that The Family Man and Farzi are part of the same Universe. No doubt, this universe is going to be the most enthralling one.
