In what can be the rarest, a 98-year-old US woman might be the greatest grandma ever. This grandmother with about 230 great-great-grandchildren has met her great-great-great-grandchild for the first-time ever. This rarest feat was achieved by Cordelia Mae Hawkins, better known as MaeDell. She belongs to Kentucky in the United States. She was seen holding seven-week-old Zhavia Whitaker.
The viral picture showed the six generations. Besides Zhavia, others in the photo are MaeDell’s daughter Francis, granddaughter Gracie, great-granddaughter Jacqueline and the great-great-granddaughter Jaisline. Jaisline is 7-week-old Zhavia’s mother. This hit the headlines earlier this week.
Going into her family details, MaeDell first married at the age of 16 when her first husband was already 50-years-old. Thus, she became stepmother to his 10 children and had 13 children of her own. Eight decades since her marriage, she reportedly has 106 grandchildren, 222 great-grandchildren, 234 great-great-grandchildren and 37 great-great-great-grandchildren living across the US.
What’s more? Here are the interesting details about the humble life-style of 98-yr-old MaeDell. She has no modern conveniences as told by her granddaughter Gracie. “She had no modern conveniences, no washer dryer, no dishwasher, no running water. I mean, I can remember I was a teenager and she still didn’t have running water. I know she had it hard, but she didn’t complain. She just went about her day,” granddaughter Gracie said. MaeDell has outlived all her husbands as well as many of her stepchildren.”She’s had a full life. I just love her,” added Gracie.
