In 2018, mobile networks, Idea and Vodafone have announced merger and after two years, they have unveiled their rebranded name. It is ‘VI’ which means nothing but Vodafone and Idea. The new logo and television commercials are out too and they look good.
VI has 40 crore subscribers but they have lost about 10 crore users in the recent years because of Mukesh Ambani’s JIO. CEO of VI, Ravinder Takkar said, “After the merger announcement, we have worked on integration of two largest networks. This process is now complete and so we have unveiled our new name.”
The websites and apps are also updated while the new sim cards, bills will be issued on VI brand hereafter. Takkar further added that they are working on improving the network coverage and also the focus is now on 5G.
Also recently, VI received funding due to which the shares of VI surged a bit but are still trading at low.
