Heart-wrenching Story Of A NRI Who Knew He Was Dying!

Imagine a man who knew he was dying yet he was not deterred. He made arrangements for his own corpse to be brought to his homeland and he also ensured his family and friends are disheartened when he is not around. Here is a tale of a 33 year old Harshavardhan who hails from Khammam and his story is a heart-wrenching one.

Having completed B-pharmacy, Harshavardhan landed in Australia in 2013 for higher studies. He completed Health Management and General Medicine from Brisbane University and was working as a doctor in Queensland. In February, 2020 Harshavardhan tied the knot and the same year in October, he suffered ill health while working out.

After undergoing a couple of tests, Harshavardhan learned that he was suffering from Lungs cancer. He underwent treatment in Australia but the cancer resurfaced in 2022. This time the doctors informed Harshavardhan that it is not curable and the clock is ticking.

From here on, Harshavardhan showed his big heart. He informed about his cancer to his family members, friends and others. Firstly he divorced his wife and made appropriate arrangements for her settlement. Every other day, Harshavardhan spoke to his father, mother and friends on video call and it looked as if everything was normal in his day-to-day life.

Since Harshavardhan is residing in Australia, he approached a lawyer to get approvals for transportation of his mortal remains after his death. Following all the procedures of Australian laws, Harshavardhan got all the approvals and on 24th of March, he breathed his last.

On Wednesday, Harshavardhan’s mortal remains were brought to Khammam and the funeral was held amidst the mourning of family members. If Harsha was alive, he would have landed in India in May for the wedding of his younger brother, Akhil. But fate had other plans.
