In a devastating incident in Hyderabad, a young biker lost his life and his pillion rider was injured when their motorcycle flew off the Biodiversity flyover. The accident occurred around 9:30 PM on Sunday while the duo was traveling from Rayadurgam to Madhapur.
The deceased, identified as Madhu (21) from Siddipet, and the injured victim, Giri (24) from Yadadri, were both employed as X-ray technicians at a local hospital.
According to the initial investigation by the police, the accident appears to have been caused by speeding. The bike collided with a divider, resulting in both riders being thrown from Level 2 to Level 1 of the Biodiversity flyover.
Despite wearing a helmet, Madhu suffered a fatal blow and passed away at the scene, while Giri was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
This unfortunate incident is not the first of its kind at the Biodiversity flyover. In a similar accident on November 23, 2019, a woman lost her life after a car crashed down from the flyover due to over-speeding and failing to negotiate a curve.
The authorities are likely to investigate the circumstances surrounding this recent tragedy and may consider additional safety measures to prevent similar accidents in the future.
