Sensational music composer AR Rahman currently finds himself embroiled in controversy following his Marakkuma Nenjam concert in Chennai that took place last night. Enthusiastic fans of the music maestro eagerly gathered at the venue with valid passes, only to be left disappointed as the event management denied them entry.
Allegations have arisen that the venue was overbooked, leading to fans enduring long waits before ultimately leaving in frustration. Tragically, the situation escalated into a stampede, resulting in injuries to some attendees. Some female fans even complained of molestation because of the overcrowding.
As a result, many disappointed fans criticized Rahman for his association with poorly organized event planners. Some accused the composer of prioritizing financial gain over the safety of his devoted fans.
In addition to these concerns, many attendees lamented the subpar sound quality and inadequate seating availability at the venue. Despite mounting criticism, AR Rahman has yet to release any statements addressing the unfortunate incident. But, surprisingly, he changed his Twitter bio, and wrote, “Tweets by Administrator.”
This has angered more fans who were expecting a statement from him.
On the other hand, ACTC Events shared a tweet on Monday, expressing their gratitude to Chennai and AR Rahman for the overwhelming response and apologizing for the overcrowding issue, taking full responsibility for the situation.
However, their tweet also resulted in criticism from everyone that their tweet had been poorly worded.
