India will resume some visa services in Canada with effect from October 26. It said it would resume issuing standard entry visas as well as business, medical and conference visas.
Last month, India suspended new visas for Canadians and asked Canada to reduce its diplomatic presence after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau stated that there was credible evidence of a potential link between Indian agents and the murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
Hardeep Singh was a Sikh separatist leader who was shot and killed in Surrey, British Columbia in June.
India also ridiculed the accusations as ‘Absurd’. After reviewing the security situations at their missions, the officials said they will resume issuing some visas.
Both countries India and Canada issued travel advisories to their citizens against each other before stopping the visas.
