The First Plus-Size Model To Participate In Miss Universe 2023

The Miss Universe Pageant for the 2023 is going to be breaking the stereotypes. It is already known that the Miss Universe 2023 will witness the participation of trasngender women for the first time. In yet another ‘first time’, plus size model and mothers also will be participating in Miss Universe 2023.

Nepal’s representative Jane Dipika Garrett is the first plus-size woman to participate in Miss Universe 2023. 22-year-old Jane calls herself part American and describes herself as an advocate of body positivty.

‘As a curvy woman who doesn’t follow certain beauty standards, I’m here to represent all women, ‘ Garrett told Hola magazine. However, Garrett participating in Miss Universe garnered controversy for not having the zero size figure.

The contest is set to take place in EL Salvador at the Hose Adolfo Pineda Arena on November 18 and will have contestants from 90 different countries.
