Ayodhya Prabhu Shri Ram Mandir is glowing in all its glory after the consecration on January 22. This prominent Hindu construction was funded completely by Ram devotees and here is a small story on the man who made the most significant contribution to the construction of Ram Mandir.
Dilip Kumar V Lakhi and his family members from Surat are prominent diamond merchants and they have made the biggest contribution to the Mandir to date.
Dilip Lakhi donated 101 KG of gold to the Ram Mandir. In the current market rate of pure gold, which is around 68,000 per 100 gms, the value of the donation is over 68 crore rupees.
The mandir construction management authorities didn’t sell off this gold to generate monetary income but instead used the gold to decorate the doors windows, and other decorative products inside the mandir. This helped in enhancing the aesthetic value of the Mandir. This is the biggest recorded donation to the holy temple.
A spiritual leader named Morari Babu donated 11.3 crore rupees. The contribution from Ram devotees in the USA, Canada, and Great Britain added another 8 crore to the tally.
