Actress falsely implicated in a hit-and-run case

Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon almost got mobbed when she was falsely accused of hitting a group of burqa-clad women with her car.

The incident occurred outside Raveena’s residence in Carter Road, Bandra. At first, a video of the alleged victims cornering Raveena and her driver was shared online.

In this clip, which went viral on social media, we see two people facing the camera, claiming that they have been assaulted while Raveena is seen traumatised, requesting them to not hit her. The people who confronted Raveena also claimed that she was drunk.

A few hours later, a second video surfaced, which told people an entirely different story. In the second clip, which is the CCTV footage of the road in front of Raveena’s home, we just see the driver reverse the car while a few people walk in the car’s direction, claiming they got injured.

Investigating all the evidence at hand, the Mumbai police issued a statement saying that Raveena’s car did not hit the people on the road. The police officers also mentioned that Raveena was not drunk at the time of the incident.

After the Pune Porsche case, public opinion seemed to swing against Raveena when the first video came out. But opinions seemed to change after more and more people saw the CCTV footage, with netizens criticizing the squatters for throwing false allegations and issuing threats to a celebrity.
