Here are the 6 symptoms of coronavirus

The coronavirus outbreak is making people paranoid as even the common flu or cold is giving us the fear of having COVID-19. The symptoms of coronavirus that we know are fever, shortness of breath, and dry cough. But, on Monday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released a set of six new symptoms of the novel virus that has appeared in the Covid-19 patients repeatedly.

The six new symptoms are

  1. Chills
  2. Repeated shaking/shivering with chills
  3. Muscle pain
  4. Headache
  5. Sore throat and
  6. Loss of taste or smell.

And the health experts claim that losing your sense of smell and taste is probably the best way to tell if you are infected with the novel virus because this particular symptom has appeared in Covid-19 patients since mid-March. Nearly percent of the coronavirus patients had reported losing their sense of smell and taste.

Two more symptoms that are not listed in the new six signs are Fatigue and discoloration of toes. Patients who are contracted usually experience fatigue. Also, scientists say that in children, discoloration of toes or inflammation can be a symptom. Parents need to be alert if children have redness on their toes like the cold sores.

Therefore, coronavirus now has a wide range of symptoms and it is more perplexing than before to identify. However, one should not immediately jump into a conclusion if any one of the above symptoms is seen. Consult doctors regarding this instead of self-curing. And usually, the symptoms of Covid-19 infection (a combination of two of them) may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus.
