US: Proposal To Scrap Additional Security Checks For Indians

Published by

The US Transportation Security Administration has proposed a one-stop agreement with India to remove the need for rescreening passengers and luggage at transfer points.

The one-stop security concept ensures passengers and their checked baggage do not need an additional security check when transferring between flights in different countries. David Pekoske, the administrator of the TSA says this concept expedites the flow of passengers and baggage to their destinations by eliminating the duplication of security controls at transfer points.

Pekoske further emphasized the security advantages of this agreement. Addressing the India-US Aviation Summit in Washington, Pekoske highlighted the feasibility and benefits of this proposal.

US Federal Aviation Administrator Michael Whitaker said, ‘We need to work together on issues like safety, we need to share ideas and innovations, especially in how to safely incorporate some of these new technologies into our airspace.’
