Dream 11 Indian Premier League favorites Delhi Capitals stumbled while chasing a score of 195 at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dabi in their second match against Kolkata Knight Riders. The all round performance of KKR batsmen and bowlers took their team to the path of victory. KKR batted first and scored 194 runs in 20 overs, with a loss of 6 wickets.
Nitesh Rana and Sunil Narine performed so well from KKR. Both contributed the maximum to the team’s score. Nitesh Rana scored 81 off 53 balls and Sunil Narine scored 64 off 32 balls. Nortje had an economic spell but all the other DC bowlers turned out to be expensive.
Delhi Capitals did not show any intent to chase down the big score. The first ball of the second innings resulted in the wicket of Ajinkya Rahane. Pat Cummins dismissed both the opening batsmen Shikar Dhawan and Rahane in the powerplay. He scored four overs and took 3 wickets for 17 runs. Varun Chakravarthy became the first player this season to take five wickets in an innings and he is responsible for the colossal failure of the DC batsmen in the middle. Varun bowled 4 overs and took 5 wickets for 20 runs. DC scored 135 runs in 20 overs, for the loss of 9 wickets.
Kolkata Knight Riders won the match by 59 runs and they will next play against KXIP on Monday. DC’s next match is with Sun Risers Hyderabad on Tuesday.
