On the occasion of Dussehra, a famous temple in Telangana has decorated the Goddess with origami flowers made of currency notes worth Rs. 1.11crore. Sri Vasavi Kanyaka Parameshwari temple located in Gadwal distance of 180km from Hyderabad. The temple organizers have adorned the Goddess with garlands and origami flowers made with currency notes.
The expensive offering made by dressing up the Goddess in the form of Dhanalakshmi – Goddess of Wealth. Many devotees visited and worshipped the deity in the avatar of Dhanalakshmi. Navratri celebrations, been a tradition under the sponsorship of the Arya Vysya Sangham.
The Temple treasurer P. Ramu said that due to pandemic and financial crisis, this offering might seem quite expensive. The traditions and trends show no epidemic crisis can stop celebrating these festivities. Last year’s celebration marked a higher amount than now, especially the Goddess has dressed up with the currency notes worth Rs.3,33,33,333.
The contributed money from the local community, have returned them after performing the puja. Approx 40 to 50 devotees have contributed to the unique decorations.
The temple organizers said that they had obtained the service of experts for unique designs of garlands and bouquets. Although the pandemic has affected the people, nothing could stop them from following traditions.
