However, Virat Kohli was caught up in an ugly row for trying to sledge Surya Kumar Yadav. This incident happened in the 13th over when Surya punches the ball towards Kohli who was standing at the covers. Taking the ball, Kohli walks straight towards Surya and stares with a serious expression on his face. However Surya keeps his calm and let’s his bat to do the talking.
This video of Kohli is going viral on the social media and netizens are targeting him and BCCI for not picking Surya for the Australia tour. Some have commented that this act of Kohli is utter shame to sledge uncapped Indian players. They also expressed their doubt whether Surya would get any opportunity to wear Indian jersey under Kohli’s leadership.
Surya has been the consistent player of IPL and Ranji tournament. But his selection has been ignored time and again. The other day when BCCI selectors announced the team for Australia tour, Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh was surprised to see no Surya’s name in it.
