In a bid to boost tourism with new attractions, the Andhra Pradesh government has decided to launch sea plane service with landing points at Krishna river in Srisailam Patalaganga and Prakasam barrage in Vijayawada.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will formally launch the plane service at Srisailam on November 9 and take a tour in it. Union minister Rammohan Naidu strived for the realization of the project.
The plane service which has the capacity to fly in air, float on water and land at any place gave a major boost to the tourism sector in the United States and Maldives.
Speculating immense benefit from such a project due to the long coast for the state, Rammohan Naidu put in sincere efforts for the sanction of the project to Andhra Pradesh.
These planes would not only be used for tourism purpose but also for medical emergency and even for relief works during natural disasters.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has decided to bring the plane service to the state soon as the Centre introduced the policy regarding the same. Accordingly, all arrangements have been made for the granting of the project to the state.
It is being speculated that once the plane services take off, both Vijayawada and Srisailam would witness an uptick in the tourism sector as the pilgrims would like the concept of visiting both Srisailam and Vijayawada temples within a short duration, on the same day.
The government is contemplating to introduce more such services at other places in the state, if the Vijayawada-Srisailam service gets a good response.
