It has been a low-scoring games day in IPL tonight. After witnessing a one-sided low-scoring match between Delhi and Mumbai in the afternoon, we have seen another minimal total chase in the second match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore. The former has won against men-in-red by five wickets while chasing a target of 121. With this win, Sunrisers is now just a win away from reaching the playoffs.
Sunrisers have won the toss and elected to bowl first. Once again, the team got a good performance from its bowlers. Dangerous batsmen Devdutt Padikkal and Virat Kohli got out in the powerplay. Later, Josh Philippe (32) and AB de Villiers (24) have tried to settle the innings. When they were looking dangerous, they were dismissed in the consecutive overs. After that, no other batsman stood up for their team. Thus, they managed to score 120 for a loss of seven wickets in 20 overs. Sandeep Sharma (2/20) and Jason Holder (2/27) scalped two wickets each. Rashid, Natarajan and Nadeem got one wicket each.
RCB needed early wickets to contain SRH while chasing this low total. They got that early wicket in the form of David Warner right in the second over. But after that, SRH didn’t give another chance for RCB bowlers. Manish Pandey (26) and Wriddhiman Saha (39) made a partnership of 50 runs for the second wicket. Then, Manish threw his wicket in a silly way. RCB came back strong by dismissing Saha and Williamson in regular intervals. That made SRH get into deep trouble. That’s when Jason Holder a brilliant cameo by scoring 26 runs off 10 balls and gave a stunning win for Sunrisers. RCB will take on Delhi Capitals on November 2 and SRH will face Mumbai Indians on November 3.
