Donald Trump claimed victory in the US Presidential elections by beating Kamala Harris.
Meanwhile, six Indian Americans have won the elections to the House of Representatives. There are five in the current Congress.
More than 35 Indian Americans were running for local bodies and state legislation elections across the country.
Here are the Indian Americans who won in US election.
Ro Khanna
Democratic Rep Rp Khanna won reelection to a US House seat representing California on Wednesday. Khanna was first elected to the US House in 2016.
Khanna serves on the House Armed Services Committee and on the Oversight Accountability Committee.
Suhas Subramanyam
Suhas Subramanyam is the first Indian American to be elected from Virginia and the entire East Coast. Subramanyam defeated Mile Clancy of the Republican Party. Suhas is currently as Virginia State Senator.
Shri Thanedar
Shri Tanedar was re-elected from the thirteenth Congressional District of Michigan. Shri defeated Republican rival Martell Bivings by a margin of 35 percentage points.
Raja Krishnamoorthi
Raja Krishnamoorthi won the seventh Congressional District of Illinois for the fifth consecutive term.
Dr Ami Bera
Dr Ami Bera is the senior-most Indian American Congressman representing the sixth Congressional District of California since 2013. He was re-elected for the seventh consecutive term. Dr Ami Vera is a physician by profession.
Pramila Jaypal
Pramila Jaypal has won the reelection in the US House District 7 race. Pramila Jaypal has served in her role since 2017 and was previously a Washington State Senator from 2015 to 2017.
