The Artificial intelligence of Chitti in Rajinikanth’s Robot seems to be getting real. The AI of robots has been a major concern as it is feared that it can get out of control from the human approach and may start working against us.
An AI-powered robot has kidnapped 12 other smart robots from a showroom in Shanghai. The video of the bizarre incident got great attention. The incident happened in August this year and the video was made public recently.
The AI-powered robot Erbai initially asked one of the large robots, ‘Are you working overtime?’
The large robot replied, ‘I never get off work’.
Erbai asked,’ So you are not going home?’ for which the large robot said, ‘I don’t have a home’.
‘Then come home with me.’ said Erbai after leading the way out of the showroom. The ten other robots also started following him as Erbai uttered the command ‘Go Home’.
The video garnered mixed reactions on the internet. Many opine that this is all scripted or a test of AI. However, the Hangzhou company later revealed that this incident was a test. The Hangzhou company maintains that they contacted the Shanghai robot manufacturer and asked if they would allow their robots to be abducted – which they agreed. But beyond this agreement, nothing was reportedly staged.
