More than six months into the Covid-19 pandemic, celebrities are feeling the heat of it with their regular schedules going for a toss and their hopes of more achievements being dashed.
After ace badminton player P.V. Sindhu expressed her concern over the prevailing pandemic conditions, newly-wed Kajal Agarwal Kitchlu too opened up about her feelings regarding the unknown and unseen enemy, Coronavirus.
The two celebrities seem to be much pained about the pandemic-induced restrictions confining them to their homes and at the same time, the duo have also said that their view of the world and their perspective had changed after the world was hit by Covid-19.
Sindhu lamented that the she was not being able to play at the Denmark Open because of the virus while Kajal had to be satisfied with an intimate ceremony of her marriage even though she planned to have a destination wedding.
Sindhu titled her open letter “Denmark Open was the final straw — I RETIRE”. At the first instance, the title kicked up a storm on the social media and sent her fans into a tizzy. However, after some time netizens found that she gave the title only to draw the attention of the readers and that the open letter was aimed at expressing her feelings on the pandemic and that she was not retiring in fact. Her fans heaved a sigh of relief while some other Twitter users felt that Sindhu’s letter was a perfect example to stress that people should not be carried away by the titles but that they should read the text to know of the reality.
The Olympic silver medallist said that not being able to represent India at Denmark Open due to the pandemic was an eye-opener of sorts and that she has chosen to retire from the “unrest”, “negativity”, “constant fear” and “complete lack of control over the unknown”.
Similarly, Kajal too titled her open letter “It’s never too late — I SAY NO” which she shared on the social media platform, Instagram, to grab the attention of the viewers.
The letter is aimed at giving out an important message as the world is struggling to check the novel Coronavirus. In the letter, she said: “I say a big no to the current state of our existence. I say no to continuous state of uncertainty and fear.”
The Tollywood actress also said that, “with no sure-fire cure in sight and seeing the world around me gripped in fear, has made me reconsider my outlook towards life.”
Further in her letter, Kajal wrote that she says no to the country’s response to the novel Coronavirus and our hygiene standards. She then says that we must be better protected from the virus and feel reassured whenever we step out.
On the same lines, Sindhu wrote: “It has been months at home and we still question ourselves every time we step out.” Sindhu’s letter has gone viral with over 4,500 reshares on Twitter.
The two celebrities expressed almost similar thoughts over the pandemic but used different words and articulated their open letters in a ‘hatke’ manner to grab viewers’ attention.
