2024 is nearly done and dusted as we are preparing to welcome 2025 in a matter of days. Meanwhile, Hyderabad is gearing up for a festive new year celebration with the youth preparing to indulge in celebratory activities.
However, Hyderabad Police Commissioner has issued a new set of rules and regulations that will be in effect during the new year celebration procession.
The managements that are going to conduct ticketed events/programmes upto 1.00 AM (midnight) should apply to the Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad for grant of permission well in advance i.e. at least (15) days before. All these facilities must have CCTV cameras without fail.
Decency of apparel, dance acts, gestures words has to be ensured by organizers. There should not be any obscenity.
External DJs are allowed till 10 PM while internal sound systems with under 45 decibels are permitted till 1 AM.
No alcohol must be served after 1 AM, or as instructed by the excise department.
Coming to the all important drunk driving cases,
Permissible alcohol limit is upto and below 30 mg/100 ml of blood i.e., 30 micrograms/100 ml of blood. Anything above that, as recorded by a Breath Analyzer is a violation.
Penalty for Drunken driving is Rs. 10,000 and/or 6 months imprisonment. Driving License will be suspended for 3 months and above or permanently.
The Hyderabad police have enforced stern regulations all across the city and must be adhered to without fail.
