Atul Suicide: Ex- Wife & Mother in law Arrested

The suicide of Bengaluru based techie Atul Subhash over an alleged harassment by his wife Nikita Singhania and her family members last week has turned into a sensational news all over the country as widespread support poured in from all quarters. Just before ending his life, Atul released a long video and also left a 24 page suicide note detailing his mental agony he was subjected to by his wife and her family.

In a significant development, the Bengaluru police arrested Atul’s estranged wife Nikita Singhania, her mother and and brother over charges of abetment to suicide. As per reports, the ex-wife was nabbed from Haryana’s Gurugram and her mother and brother were detained in Allahabad today morning. They have been accused of demanding 3 Crores to withdraw the cases foisted against Atul and also wanted 30 lakhs for visitation rights to see his son.

Last Monday, Atul Subhash was found dead at his residence. Reportedly, he was entangled in a legal tussle with his wife and faced acute harassment for alimony and divorce from his wife Nikita. His tragic story went viral in the media and grabbed the attention of the public all over the country. There have been demands to arrest her wife and family for subjecting him to ill treatment and ultimately causing him suicide.

Bengaluru police lodged a complaint and issued a look out notice to all three of them. They approached the Allahabad High Court seeking anticipatory bail in the case. Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh police and Bengaluru cops jointly traced the whereabouts of Nikita Singhania and her family. They were finally arrested on Sunday morning and were produced in the local court before taking into judicial custody.

Atul Subhash’s painful ordeal in the video and his letter went viral and triggered huge backlash on social media platforms. Many have demanded that Nikita should be fired from her company Accenture where she is currently employed.
