As reported earlier, there was a massive exodus from Hyderabad premises later last weekend as the city residents returned to their hometowns, primarily in Andhra Pradesh on the occasion of Sankranthi. The tollgates leading to outside of Hyderabad were flooded with cars and vehicles filled with people who were on their way to their hometowns.
Cut to now, the mad rush has returned at the tollgates inbound to Hyderabad as people are starting to return to the city today, with the Sankranthi holidays getting wrapped up.
In particular, heavy traffic is being observed at the Panthangi toll plaza. The booth is witnessing exceptionally high traffic and is operating at peak capacity. The queue line of cars waiting for entry at the plaza is said to be kilometres long.
With the majority of the citizens returning to Telangana state from Andhra Pradesh after the wrapping up of the Sankranthi season, the toll booths are witnessing highest levels of traffic.
The Hyderabad roads, which had a largely vacant atmosphere over the last 4 days due to the exodus of settlers, will start to get filled up with traffic from tomorrow, with the majority of the city folk returning.
