In a strange and frustrating incident, passengers were stuck on an Air India plane for five hours when their flight was delayed. The Dubai-bound Air India flight from Mumbai was delayed for nearly five hours, leaving passengers panicked and frustrated. A video of passengers arguing with the flight’s crew over the delay has now gone viral on social media.
According to reports, the flight was scheduled to depart at 8:45 AM. However, it was delayed by 4 hours and 45 minutes due to technical issues. Eventually, the passengers were deboarded at around 1:00 PM after they confronted the crew, having been stuck on the plane without updates for nearly five hours.
Sharing the video of the confrontation on social media, a netizen wrote, “What a horrible experience for all the passengers flying with @airindia to Dubai on flight AI909. The flight, which was supposed to take off at 8:25 AM, was delayed by 5 hours with passengers (including toddlers and senior citizens) on board without the air conditioning system working. Passengers started feeling suffocated, yet the crew did not provide any relief until passengers forced them to open the gates and deboard.”
The user further criticized the experience, saying, “This is not the kind of experience we expected from an airline owned by Tata, one of the most accountable business houses. The captain never came out of the cockpit to address the passengers and help ease the situation. Instead, he stayed inside while passengers lost their patience after waiting for five hours.”
The user also urged the aviation ministry to take strict action, writing, “It’s high time the aviation ministry takes strict action on such incidents. Why should passengers always be the ones at the receiving end?”
