Rayudu commented that the celebrities attend matches only to gain attention in the media. The statement that quickly went viral and drew backlash from netizens.
Rayudu said, “The celebrities and film stars come to cricket matches so that they will be seen on TV. It is just for publicity.”
Among those present at the match were Megastar Chiranjeevi, director Sukumar, AP Minister Nara Lokesh, and MP Keshineni Chinni and others. While many prominent figures and industrialists attended to support Team India, Rayudu’s comments suggesting their motive was media attention angered fans.
