500 Indian Prisoners Released in UAE – What’s the Story?

Marking the auspicious occasion of Ramzan, the royalty of United Arab Emirates has delivered some great news to Indian families, and here is a look into the story.

UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum granted pardons, allowing inmates to return home. This generous act of partnering directly helps hundreds of Indian families as over 500 Indian prisoners have been pardoned in United Arab Emirates.

This is a calculated move from the UAE administration in order to cut down on their prison population and also help families of inmates gain social stability.

Not just that the United Arab Emirates administration will also overseas the financial obligations of these prisoners and cover their expenses as well. This coincides with the auspicious occasion of Ramadan, which is a huge cultural celebration for the Arab community.

In February, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan announced the pardoning of 1258 inmates and it just happens to be that over 500 of them are Indians. At the end of the day, it is good news for Indians who got stuck up in UAE prisons.
