One of the most popular mobile games in India, PUBG is coming back to India in a re-launch. PUBG Mobile developers announced that they are launching a new game ‘PUBG MObile India’ in India.
PUBG was banned along with 117 other applications that belonged to China as a part of security by the Information and Technology Ministry in September. The PUBG was banned due to the mobile app’s links to China Tencent. PUBG had more than 50 million users when it was banned.
The new PUBG game is claimed to be specifically designed for the Indian market and the company is also in plans to invest some $100 million in Indian gaming and entertainment soon. PUBG Corporation further claims to have cut ties with Tencent and is looking forward to localizing development and data into India.
The new PUBG Mobile India boasts of having customized for Indian gamers, including the fully clothed characters, green liquid for blood, virtual simulation training ground, and also the limiting hours for the gamers as a part of promoting healthy gameplay habits.
Though the PUBG corporation flatters itself with localized changes for Indian gamers, gaming analysts are calling it simply the customized version of the game as China version from Tencent. The China version reportedly had the green blood, virtual training ground, and limits on playtime.
Other than that, Bengaluru-based mobile games and interactive entertainment company announced Indianized PUBG, called FAU-G (Fearless and United Guards), and launched by actor Akshay Kumar. This game claims to be based on real-life situations faced by the Indian Army while dealing with domestic and foreign threats. The trailer of FAU-G was launched on Dussehra.
We have to see if the FAU-G manages to impress the real gamers or the relaunch of PUBG takes the gamers back to it.
