In the shocking and aggressively disturbing incident, a policeman in Punjab was dragged on the bonnet of a car for a couple of minutes when the cop tried to stop a 20-year-old student for coming on roads amid the lockdown. Luckily the policeman has escaped from injuries and is safe and sound.
The student at a Jalander check post tried to break the lockdown guidelines and cops tried to stop his car. The Assistant Sub Inspector Mulkh Raj, who came in front of his car in order to stop him, has been dragged onto the bonnet of the moving car and this 90-second clip is going viral on the internet, leaving everyone in shock.
The state police have filed a case of attempt to murder against the student driver, identified as Anmol Mehmi and he was driving the black Ertiga. Also, a case has been filed on the boy’s father Parminder Kumar, the vehicle owner. Earlier, in March, the state also has seen a horrifying incident when a cop’s hand was chopped off by a group trying to defy the shutdown.
With two highly unacceptable behaviors in lockdown, the state is taking strict action. What really brings our blood to boil is, the accused continued to drive when the cop was screaming in panic. As soon as the car stop, the student has been pulled out by other cops and admonished on the road for his psychotic behaviour.
“The Jalandhar Commissionerate Police has booked a youth and his father for almost running over an Ertiga car over Assistant Sub Inspector of Police, who had tried to stop him at a naka in the city during the curfew on Saturday morning,” an official statement by the Jalandhar Police read.
