Ramayana breaks Game Of Thrones Record

The epic mythological saga of the 1980s, Ramayana is being re-telecasted in lockdown so that viewers can enjoy watching the classic soap in this ample amount of time. Every day at 9 to 10 am and 9 to 10 in the night will have Ramayana in DD channel and the audience say that it is indeed a fantastic experience to watch this decades-old serial.

Moreover, this serial is so epic that it has shattered all the previous TRP records ever since March 28. It is not only nostalgic but also intriguing stuff for mythological lovers. Also, the serial brings back the childhood which we have grown up watching this show starring Arun Govil and Deepika Chikhalia in the lead. Today, another record has been bagged in its kitty and that is, it made a whopping 77 million viewership record. And this record-breaking number is just of a single day!

The episode that was aired on April 16 has a mammoth number of people in the country watched the show which resulted in the viewership record break all the records. With this, ‘Ramayan’ has become the most-watched show in the world and it has also broke the record of the popularly and critically acclaimed HBO’s Game of Thrones’ series finale viewership (19.3 million).

DD India’ s official Twitter handle tweets – “Rebroadcast of #Ramayana on #Doordarshan smashes viewership records worldwide, the show becomes most-watched entertainment show in the world with 7.7 crore viewers on 16th of April”. The show has indeed stuck nation together and it is fascinating to learn that in spite of having countless 24-hour channels, we are back to watching Ramayana and Mahabarata of the 80s.
