Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan has left the decision of extending the lockdown or not after May 3 to the Center itself unlike Telangana, where its CM KCR told that the lockdown will continue until 7 May. Jagan also said in the video conference with the PM that his state will follow the Centre’s decision.
With more than 55 new cases emerging each day, Andhra has five red zones out of 13 districts, seven in orange and only one in the green zone. Now, the latest photo is circulating on the internet and it is also understood that the state is all set to run public transport (APRTC) soon after lockdown ends.
The image shows buses given seat numbers as per social distancing norms. That is, two seats are left in between each number and only two numbers are given in each row in order to maintain a certain distance, adhering to social distancing guidelines. It also assures that inter-district movement and public transport system within the districts would be allowed soon.
Before opening up to any relaxations like transport, the government is said to take awareness programs through digital media platforms to highlight the importance of personal hygiene and the importance of immunity. But it is questionable on people sincerely following protocols. Apart from this, Andhra which had wine shops closed since the implementation of the nationwide lockdown, would now be open from 10 am to 7 pm, adhering to the social distancing norms.
