Australia’s legendary spinner Shane Warne has made controversial remarks on Indian batsman Cheteshwara Pujara while doing commentary for the pink ball Test between Australia and India.
Warne was referring to the nickname given to Pujara by the English county cricket team Yorkshire. Well this team calls their foreign players ‘Steve’ because many of them don’t know how to pronounce such complex names especially the Indian names. However, this issue created a storm in Yorkshire and recently the captain of the team filed a petition against the management on discrimination charges.
When such an issue is happening, Warne used this ‘Steve’ thing on Pujara who was stuck in the crease and giving a tough fight for the Australian bowlers. The netizens were unimpressed with the legendary spinner’s comments and added that Warne should apologise to Pujara.
On the other hand, India were at 233 runs for the loss of six wickets at the stumps of day one. Kohli played a super innings but was run out by Rahane at 74. Netizens are also slamming Rahane as Kohli was on his way to score a Test century.
