COVID-19 Impact: Uber To Layoff 3,700 Employees!

The leading ride hailing company Uber is ready to cut 3,700 jobs to save money during the global Coronavirus pandemic. As part of plan put in place by company’s CEO Dara Khosrowshahi, Uber is all set to layoff its workforce all over the world.

It is known how outbreak of COVID-19 is impacting the businesses and revenues of cab aggregators starting March, this year. The job cut will amount to 14% of Uber’s global workforce. These job cuts is likely to hit 500-700 employees in India and those working in Uber customer support and recruiting teams.

Like several other companies, Uber also froze new hiring and withdrew financial outlook as the number of rides dropped heavily across the globe. As part of cost saving, CEO Khosrowshahi, who received $1 million in 2019, has decided to take a pay cut for rest of this ongoing year.
