The lockdown relaxations all over the country relieved the people to some extent, while the red zones and containment pockets continue to keep the store shutters down for days coming. Amid the happenings on relaxations, the Air India announced the evacuation flights update.
Air India announced that it is resuming the bookings for evacuation flights for those who wish to travel to Singapore, London, and few select destinations in the US. Air India issued a notice that the from Air India would be operating from 8th May to 14th May 2020 to the destinations mentioned.
Air India asked the passengers to check the eligibility criteria ‘carefully’ and then proceed for booking only if they meet the same. Air India clearly mentions in the notice that the airlines do not take responsibility if anybody’s travel is rejected at any point for not meeting the laid down eligibility criteria.
The eligibility criteria depend on nationality status with respect to the destination countries, which means the passenger should hold a green card or permanent residency or a one-year valid visa. Also, they will have to go through thermal screening, by following the social distancing guidelines, and wearing a mask is a mandate.
If any passenger is quarantined or deported, he/she will have to pay for the entire cost of it, while they will have to pay for the entire cost of travel. Air India’s official website handles the booking and there is a chat and phone numbers available to reach with questions.
