The media reports have earlier suggested that a few changes have been made in visa rules of the US and Singapore claiming that Indian students are not being allowed. And today, contrary to the reports, news came in that there has been no change at all in rules and that Indian students would be allowed to enter both nations.
As we know, today flights took off for the United States to bring back Indian citizens, and four Indian students who had booked a flight to go to the US were asked to deboard the flight. This is because of several queries popped up regarding their purpose of travel, especially when universities are shut and other Indian students preferring to get back home.
One among these students, who was due to fly, said that he wanted to do some internship before his university could open. In this crisis, there was no way that he would have been able to work. Therefore, the queries were raised internally and in conversations with DC. Since Indian officials wanted to avoid an ordeal where the students are allowed to fly and then would get stranded at the US airport, they have been asked to aboard.
With this whole situation, the reports emerged pertinent to the changes in the US visa policy. Rubbishing all the rumours, a senior official confirmed that there is no change in policy and that F1 student visa holders will be allowed to travel the US in the next flights. The case is the same with Singapore travel also.
