The next Chief Executive Officer of successful and giant e-commerce Amazon is Amazon Web Services chief, Andy Jassy. With a unique corporate culture, Amazon is unstoppable in the e-commerce arena. And it has expanded aggressively into web services. Not many know about the new CEO Andy Jassy, but he is arguably one of the most important business persons in the last decade.
The 53-year-old Andy Jassy will replace billionaire founder Jeff Bezos as Amazon.com’s next chief executive officer, who has been helping the development of Amazon Web Services since its inception in 2006. He first founded Amazon Web Services in 1997 with just 53 people in the game.
He joined Amazon in 1997 holding an MBA from Harvard Business School. Before his MBA, Jassy was advertising manager of The Harvard Crimson,
Jassy is also one of the minority owners of the Seattle Kraken of the National Hockey League.
Now that Jassy will replace Jeff Bezos as CEO of Amazon in the third quarter of 2021; Bezos will transition to executive chairman.
In an interview earlier, Jassy said that he joined Amazon right the next Monday after his final exam at HBS in 1997. He said he had no idea on what his job was going to be and what role was he will be designated to.
On a personal front, Jassy married Elana Rochelle Caplan, a fashion designer, and is the father of two children. He is also well-versed on current affairs and ongoing social issues, which is quite evident with his social media handles.
