The ‘God of cricket’ Sachin Tendulkar’s son, Arjun, has finally registered for the IPL 2021 Player Auction, at a base price of INR 20 lakh. In December 2020, this 21-year-old lad made his debut with Mumbai against Haryana in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
Arjun took one wicket and scored 34 runs from the three overs in the first match and one wicket, 33 runs in his second match for Mumbai. Arjun was also a debatable topic regarding nepotism in the cricket field for quite some time. Social media pointed out how he gets the chance to practice in world-class academies while normal kids can’t, calling it biased.
Moreover, all eyes are on Arjun, who is a tall left-handed fast-bowling all-rounder. Now, he has very big shoes to fill in and as Sachin once said, the pressure of expectation could weigh him down. The IPL registration has been closed on Thursday with 1097 players (814 Indian and 283 overseas players) signing up.
