Arjun Tendulkar Gets No Place In Vijay Hazare Trophy

Just a week ago, India’s legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar’s 21-year-old son Arjun Tendulkar has registered his name for IPL at the base price of INR 20 Lakhs. And today, the budding cricketer has received a huge blow just ahead of the IPL 2021 auction. The 50-over tournament, Vijay Hazare Trophy is starting next week on February 20, and shockingly, Arjun has not been named in Mumbai’s senior team.

On Wednesday, the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) listed their 22-men squad for the tournament, Vijay Hazare Trophy. The list suggests that the Indian middle-order batsman Shreyas Iyer will be leading the charge and Prithvi Shaw has been named his deputy. However, Arjun Tendulkar was not included in the squad in spite of being in the T20 competition, Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, earlier.

Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy had Arjun play just one game and he took one wicket in the two overs and gave away 21 runs. The analysts tell that Arjun’s not so impressive performance even in practice games as well as in the four matches he played for Team D (where he gave only 7 runs and took 4 wickets) could be the reason for not being a part of Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Indian fast bowler, Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been appointed as the captain of Uttar Pradesh and all-rounder Krunal Pandya has been appointed as the Baroda team’s Captain for the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy.
