Now, BSF Helicopters To Fly Jawans To Their Home

Published by

In a bid to prevent Pulwama-like terror attacks on the Indian Army and the CRPF jawans, the Home Ministry has finally given its nod to the Indian Army’s long-pending request to fly the soldiers to their home in helicopters. The Border Security Force (BSF) MI-17 choppers in Kashmir will be flying the jawans who will be visiting their home on leave.

The MHA’s new move is a measure to safeguarding the jawans from terrorist attacks, Magnetic IED and other explosions while they travel long distances to their homes across the country from Kashmir by road. The choppers will fly the jawans and officers thrice a week.

However, where the choppers will take off from the Jawans’ army bases in Kashmir, it is still unclear upto where they will be airdropped. Apparently, the BSF is planning to fly the jawans either till the Srinagar airport or Jammu airport. The latest move by the MHA comes nearly 2 years after the deadly terror attack on the CRPF jawans in South Kashmir’s Pulwama on February 14, 2019. The bomb blast claimed the lives of 40 soldiers.
