Indian wicket-keeper batsman Rishab Pant has played an extraordinary innings on day two of the fourth Test match against England. Having stepped into the crease when India was 80 runs for the loss of four wickets, Pant scored his third Test century.
This hundred has made Rishab Pant join Australia’s Adam Gilchrist. Pant and Gilchrist are the only wicket-keeper batsmen to have scored Test centuries in England, Australia and India.
From commentators to fans, everyone is blown away by Pant’s batting display in challenging conditions and also the pitch which is behaving strangely. He also made sure India get a decent first innings total which is crucial.
Along with Washington Sundar, Pant had put 113 runs partnership for seventh wicket. Sundar too scored a half century and remained unbeaten on 60 at the end of the day’s play.
India’s scorecard is at 294 runs for the loss of seven wickets and has a lead of 89 runs.
