Team India captain Virat Kohli scored a duck in the first 20-20 match against England last night. The Men in Blue lost to England by 8 wickets, trailing the series 0-1. Virat’s poor performance not only invited criticism from cricket lovers but even the Uttrakhand Police trolled him in an epic manner.
Soon after Virat got out on zero, the Uttrakhand Police’s official Twitter handle posted a hilarious meme that’s been going viral on social media since last night. The meme is about road safety and the importance of wearing a helmet while riding a bike. The meme cautions netizens against rash and irresponsible driving, citing Virat’s irresponsible shot that cost his wicket.
“Just wearing a helmet is not enough. It’s important to drive with utmost concentration, or you can also get out on zero like Kohli,” the Hindi meme literally translates to. The meme also features a photograph of Virat walking back to the dressing room after losing his wicket. The amusing meme has so far clocked nearly 26K likes and 7K retweets.
On the other hand, yesterday’s duck was Virat’s consecutive zero in an international match and his third duck in the last 5 international innings. He now has a dismal record of 28 ducks including all the three formats of the game. His last century was against Bangladesh on November 23, 2019.
