International Flights To Remain Suspended Till April 30

Published by

The circular released by the Director General of Civil Aviation read that international flights are further suspended till April 30, 2021. “However, international scheduled flights may be allowed on selected routes by the competent authority on case to case basis,” the circular added.

“In partial modification of circular dated 26-6-2020, the competent authority has further extended the validity of circular issued on the above subject regarding Scheduled International commercial passenger services to/from India till 2359 hrs IST of April 30. This restriction shall not apply to international all-cargo operations and flights specifically approved by DGCA” – said the circular.

Reports also said that schedules flights under air bubble arrangements and Vande Bharat Mission will continue to operate as usual. Earlier, scheduled international flights were initially suspended on March 23, 2020, due to COVID pandemic. As we see, there is a sudden increase in covid19 cases across the nation, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) issued new guidelines today and the rules will be effective from April 1 to 30.

“The main focus of the guidelines is to consolidate the substantial gains achieved in containing the spread of COVID-19, which was visible in the sustained decline in the number of active cases, continuously for about five months,” MHA said.
