It is a dream of Telangana Chief Minister KCR to build a grandiose temple in the state matching the levels of popular and historic Tirumala. As we all know, Yadadri is the ancient shrine of Lord Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy on the picturesque hills which is nearly 70-km away from Hyderabad. The temple is now all set for the inauguration with a complete makeover and renovation, costing Rs 1200 crores. KCR is also ensuring that hundreds of sculptors and artisans are working incessantly to complete the new construction.
But, today 32 out of 86 employees, including priests, of the popular Yadadri temple, were found positive for coronavirus after authorities carried out tests A couple of days ago, only 6 were reported positive. With the news, the temple authorities had to cancel the special rituals. Also, executive Officer of Yadadri Temple, N. Geetha said that several Arjita Sevas at the temple are being temporarily suspended, in the wake of fresh COVID-19 infections among the Devasthanam’s assisting staff.
So far, the main temple’s complex has been completely renovated bringing an aesthetic appearance as imagined by KCR. Articutiral works, compound walls (prakarams), stone-carved pillars, gods sculptures have been completed. But, we see an interruption in the construction of prasadam complex, circular road and queue lines, which is scheduled to complete by May.
In addition, the Telangana government has made some new rules like mandatory mask-wearing in public places till April 30. Also, all District Collectors, Superintendents of Police and other officials have been directed to strictly implement the orders. The government also prohibited all gatherings on festivals such as Holi, Ugadi, Srirama Navama, Mahavir Jayanthi and Good Friday.
