In a good news to air travelers, Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri tweeted that domestic flight operations will recommence from Monday 25th May 2020. The minister in his tweet further said that all the airports across the country were informed about this and were asked to be ready from the above mentioned date.
From the last week of March month, India has stopped the domestic and international operations and after 54 days, the flight operations will be getting restored in another five days. As and when Aviation Minister made these statements, all the airlines have started the ticket booking process.
However, the minister did not comment about the seating arrangements inside the plane. If the middle seat is asked to be kept vacant, then airlines will hike the ticket prices by nearly 33 percent. The aviation ministry is currently working on the guidelines to be issued to the passengers.
Also there needs a clarity on when the Centre will allow the foreign travel. As of now, the Centre is allowing authorities and cargo flights into the country. So the call for foreign travel might take some more time.
