IPL 2021: SRH Plays The First Match Today; Fans Pin Big Hopes

Published by

IPL 2021 kickstarted a couple of nights back and we have witnessed two interesting matches between big teams. Tonight, formidable team Sunrisers Hyderabad is all set to take on the two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders. Hyderabad fans are gearing up to cheer for their team to kick off the campaign in style.

On paper, Sunrisers Hyderabad looks very solid and is one of the favourite contenders for the title. They have bought only three players in this year’s auction, Kedhar Jadhav, Mujeeb Ur Rahman and J. Suchith. As usual, SRH’s bowling looks lethal and they are heavily dependant on their top-order batsmen. SRH has the advantage of playing on a turning pitch in Chennai. This track will help its bowlers.

The batting is heavily reliant on the likes of David Warner, Manish Pandey and Kane Williamson. Both Warner and Williamson are coming back from injury breaks and we have to see how they perform tonight. The middle-order may consist of the likes of young blood like Abhishek Sharma, Abdul Samad. Either of Kedhar Jadhav and Vijay Shankar may take the 5th position in the batting order.

On the flip side, the bowling department looks solid. The superior form of Bhuvneshwar Kumar is a huge boost for SRH. He gets good support from Sandeep Sharma and Natarajan. Rashid heads the spin department and he will remain a trump card for SRH. We may see Mohammed Nabi playing ahead of Jason Holder in this match, given the fact that the pitch favours spinners. Anyway, we have to see if SRH makes use of its balanced unit and starts the season in style or not.
