Food delivery chain Swiggy has apologised to Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma fans for a social media post that did not go down well. Going into details, last evening before the start of Mumbai Indians match with Kolkata Knight Riders, predictions were going on.
During then an enthusiast posted a cheeky picture of Rohit Sharma on the backdrop of a Vada Pav (Mumbai city’s favourite dish) stall. Retweeting this picture, Swiggy wrote, “Haters will say it’s photoshopped!”
This comment was not well received by HITMAN fans and they openly lashed out at Swiggy. Realising the mistake, the food delivery chain has apologised and deleted its tweet. “A special message to the Hitman’s fans. We reposted a fan’s tweet in good humour. While the image was not created by us, we do admit it could’ve been worded better. It was not meant to offend anyone in the least. Needless to say, we’re always with the Paltan.”
A small comment will invite big flak and that’s how social media is very dangerous.
