Setting a perfect example for a stringent act against those who were complacent on Covid guidelines, Indonesia’s Bali government has seized the passports of two women who didn’t wear masks when entering a grocery store. The administration found this act as the gross violation of law.
Going into details, a woman had painted a face mask instead of wearing a mask. and ‘fooled’ the other shoppers at a supermarket in Bali. Her friend who was with her had filmed it while the other walked into a supermarket with the face-paint.
The friend also didn’t wear a mask and had the same blue-coloured face paint similar to that of a surgical mask colour. Both had filmed the video inside the supermarket and both were featured in this selfie video. This video has gone viral. The two women were identified and their passports have been seized. The women were identified as Josh Paler Lin and Leia Se. These two were influencers and were popular on YouTube.
Cracking a whip on them, the Indonesia government has seized their passports and reports have it that the government is planning to cancel their passports as an act of punishment. Netizens are lauding the government for its act.
It can also be noted that recently Delhi police had arrested a husband and wife traveling in a car for arguing with police when asked about not wearing masks inside their car. The couple had ‘misbehaved’ with the cops when stopped and the video had gone viral. The court had sentenced jail for the couple pertaining to obstructing policemen apart from violating the Disaster Management Act (DDMA Act) for not wearing masks in public. These incidents prove that wearing masks in public has become mandatory under law and those who violate are punishable under the DDMA Act.
