From the past few days, we have seen players pulling out of the ongoing Indian Premier League due to the surge of coronavirus cases in India. Now, umpires Nitin Menon and Paul Reiffel have joined that list. Both of them left the tournament midway due to personal reasons.
As per reports, Nitin has a small son and he needs to look after the kid because both his mother and wife have been tested positive with the coronavirus. Thus, Nitin had to fly back to his home in Indore. Nitin got a lot of praise in the recent past for his brilliant umpiring in the recently held India-England series and the ongoing IPL as well.
Not only Nitin, but another umpire Paul Reiffel also left the tournament. According to the sources, Reiffel left the league because he was anxious with the announcement of the Australian Government banning flights from India till May 15.
Liam Livingstone, Adam Zampa, Kane Richardson, and Ravichandran Ashwin are the players who pulled out of the league due to the ongoing crisis in the country.
