IPL 2021: New Rules For Players Amid Covid Scare

Published by

The coronavirus scare has caught up all over the country right now. Even the players participating in the Indian Premier League are a bit worried about their security right now. Though they are staying in the bio-secure bubbles, a few players are not feeling safe and are leaving the tournament. Thus, BCCI has revised the rules of bio-bubbles.

As per the initial rules, the players and others who were staying in the bubble needed to get tested once in five days. Now, everyone will undergo an RT-PCR test once in two days. Earlier, the players used to be allowed to order food from restaurants outside their hotels. But that is not allowed now. All players need to eat in their designated hotels.

BCCI made these changes to ensure the safety of players and all others who are involved in the tournament. It is also being heard that the board is planning to make some arrangements to vaccinate the players.

Already, players like Liam Livingstone, Andrew Tye, Kane Richardson, and Adam Zampa have left IPL midway as they were concerned about the rising coronavirus cases in the country.
