After the IPL 2021 was suspended, the Australian players and support staff have been transferred to the Maldives because the government of Australia has put a travel ban on flights coming from India. Thus, the Australian contingent is currently residing in a bio-bubble arranged in the Maldives. Meanwhile, some Australian media houses reported that David Warner and Michael Slater indulged in a physical brawl at a bar in the Maldives. However, the duo quashed the reports as baseless rumors.
According to the Daily Telegraph, there was an argument between Warner and Slater which was heated up eventually and the duo ended up having a physical brawl. But both of them denied these statements.
“There is absolutely nothing to the rumor mill Buzz. Davie and I are great mates and absolutely zero chance of (having) a fight,” Slater reportedly messaged a senior journalist of the publication house.
Even Warner has apparently sent a text saying, “There has been no drama. I don’t know where you get these things from. Unless you were here and have got concrete evidence you can’t write anything. Nothing happened.”
Slater was working in the commentary team of the IPL. David Warner represents Sunrisers Hyderabad in the tournament. He used to be the captain of the side but he was sacked midway this season as the team lost five out of six games under his captaincy.
