IPL 2021 was postponed earlier this month due to the sudden spike in the cases of coronavirus inside the bio-bubble of players. BCCI and IPL governing council stated that the remaining part of the tournament will be held whenever the situation settles down.
According to the reports, BCCI and IPL GC are planning to host the rest of the tournament either in the United Kingdom or in the United Arab Emirates. Apparently, BCCI COO and IPL COO have prepared two separate schedules to conduct the rest of the season.
Both these schedules will be discussed in the BCCI board meeting that is most likely to happen on May 29th. They may also take a call in the same meeting. Mostly, IPL will continue in September or October this year. Anyways, we have to wait for a few more days to get an official confirmation.
After the suspension of the league, BCCI transferred the overseas players safely back to their homes. Australian players stayed in the Maldives for two weeks and went back home recently. Meanwhile, Indian players are prepping up for the upcoming World Test Championship final which is slated to happen in England from June 18- June 22.
